A.G. Metalworks is the residential division of A.G. Welding, a Houston metal fabrication company that's been in business since 1982. We design, fabricate, and install custom iron railings, gates, fencing, and doors for homeowners, interior designers, and custom home builders primarily in West Houston, Memorial, and the surrounding area.

We can duplicate pretty much any design you bring us, whether it's a photo from Houzz, a sketch, or something you've seen on a neighbor's property. Our shop and installation crew handle everything from first measurement to the day we leave your driveway clean.

Stair Railings
Replacing wooden balusters with iron is one of the most common renovation projects we handle, and it makes a real difference in how a home looks and feels. We design and fabricate custom railing systems for interior stairs, exterior balconies, and open-concept second floors. Most baluster replacement jobs are completed within one to two weeks of fabrication. We work from your idea, a photo from Houzz, or a design we work out together during the estimate.
Driveway Gates
A custom iron driveway gate does more than secure your property. It changes how the house reads from the street. We fabricate swing gates and slide gates in wrought and forged iron, sized and styled to fit your driveway and your neighborhood's aesthetic. Automated opener systems are available. If your HOA requires approval before installation begins, we can provide a design drawing to include with your submission so the process moves smoothly.
Entry Gates
A well-designed entry gate frames the entrance to your property and sets the tone for everything else. We build pedestrian entry gates, garden gates, and courtyard entries in custom configurations. Many homeowners in West Houston and Memorial are currently moving toward simpler, cleaner iron designs rather than the more ornate French and Spanish styles that were common years ago. We build to whatever style you prefer, and we handle HOA documentation when it's required.
Fencing
Iron fencing adds a presence to a property that aluminum and vinyl simply do not. We install perimeter fencing, pool enclosures, front yard statement fences, and partial sections where safety or privacy is the concern. Material options include forged iron and wrought iron in a range of panel heights and picket styles. We handle measurement, fabrication, and installation. Pool fence projects follow standard safety height requirements, and we can advise on what your HOA will typically approve in Memorial and West Houston neighborhoods.
Custom Iron & Steel Doors
A custom iron or forged steel front door is among the more lasting changes you can make to a home's exterior. It affects security, curb appeal, and how the whole entry reads. We design and fabricate iron doors in both traditional and modern styles, sized and fitted to your existing opening. The work is done in our shop on McGee Lane by the same crew that fabricates our gates and railings, and our team handles installation. Lead times typically run three to four weeks depending on complexity and current shop volume.
